Sunday Concerts: Minerva Piano Trio

To celebrate their new album release on SOMM, the Minerva Piano Trio‘s programme will feature a new arrangement of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite by Richard Birchall, made to celebrate the ballet suite’s 100th anniversary in 2022. We will also hear one of Richard’s own compositions and a further new arrangement of Caroline Shaw’s piece by Annie Yim, the trio’s pianist. A very special evening, not to be missed.

Annie Yim (piano)
Michal Cwizewicz (violin)
Richard Birchall (cello)

Programme:

Beethoven | Trio in D ‘Ghost’ Op.70/1
Caroline Shaw (arr. Annie Yim) | Gustave Le Gray
Richard Birchall | Contours
Haydn | Trio in G ‘Gypsy Rondo’ Hob XV:25
Stravinsky (arr. Richard Birchall) | Pulcinella Suite

About the Sunday Concerts

Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.
