The Carducci Quartet were awarded a Royal Philharmonic Society Award in 2016 for their project Shostakovich15, an immense cycle of Shostakovich’s quartets performed across the UK, North and South America.
For their return to Conway Hall, they present the first of these quartets, flanked by two much-loved classics of the repertoire: Mozart’s ‘Hunt’, dedicated to Haydn; and Dvořák’s ‘American’, written in 1893 during the composer’s time in the United States.

“A masterclass in unanimity of musical purpose, in which severity could melt seamlessly into charm, and drama into geniality.”
