English Music Festival Gala Concert

Cellist Raphael Wallfisch, American tenor Brian Thorsett, violinist Rupert Marshall-Luck and pianist Michael Dussek present a very special evening of music by leading British composers, to raise vital funds for the acclaimed English Music Festival.

The English Music Festival was founded in 2004 to celebrate the music of British composers throughout the centuries with a strong focus on the Golden Renaissance of English Music, the late-nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries. As well as commissioning new works from contemporary composers, the Festival is proud to have unearthed and presented the world premiere performances of numerous works by such illustrious composers as Vaughan Williams, Elgar, Holst, Britten and Delius.

Performances also include jazz, folk and medieval music and are complemented by a series of talks. Over recent years the Festival has expanded its reach from its home in Oxfordshire and now also holds events throughout the UK and overseas, including Australia, South Africa and Sweden.

Due to the age and Grade Il listing of the building, there is no lift access to rooms above the ground floor.

All the ground-floor rooms are fully accessible by wheelchair. Main Hall (street access, step-free), Brockway Room (street access, step-free), Bertrand Russell Room (street access, shallow ramp), Hive Cafe (street access, step-free), There is also an accessible toilet on the ground floor opposite the Brockway Room.
