 Artur Pizarro

18.15 drinks reception
19.00 recital

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Artur Pizarro shot to international fame by winning the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1990. He performs internationally in recital, chamber music and with the world’s leading orchestras.

In a programme entitled Songs My Grandmother Taught Me, renowned Portuguese pianist Artur Pizarro will explore the repertoire his concert pianist grandmother introduced to him from the age of four. The programme itself is top secret, but Artur will take us on a journey of best-loved piano works, documenting the story of his first musical mentor.

This concert is followed by an informal Q&A which will be conducted by Claire Jackson, Editor of International Piano magazine.
