BOOK NOW

In an episode of the original television series Cosmos, Carl Sagan said, “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.” This statement inspired particle physicist Harry Cliff to write a book in which he investigates the ingredients of life, the universe, and everything. While exploring the history of time (very briefly) starting from a fraction of a second after our universe began, he will include personal stories of his own life in the modern world of physics.

For our final assembly of the year we’ll enjoy poetry by Megan McKie-Smith and an encore performance from our Yule Rock band featuring a few of our favourite festive sing-alongs. Please stay after for tea, seasonal treats, and engaging conversations with members of our community. This will be a hybrid event, which means it will be held in-person as well as live-streamed through our website, https://www.sundayassembly.com. We will make a Zoom room available for livestreamers after the assembly has finished. Link to be shared on the day.

Our assemblies are free to attend, but we kindly request that you support us so we can continue to keep it open to those who cannot afford to contribute. https://sundayassembly.enthuse.com/donate-oneoff#!/
