 Anti-humanist Discrimination: A Global Report

How are humanists and the non-religious treated under the law in countries around the world? Where are they most likely to face social hostility or extremist violence for expressing humanist or atheistic ideas? The Freedom of Thought Report, by Humanists International, has been recording and analysing the issue for seven years. Hear from the Report’s editor, Bob Churchill, about some of the most recent findings, and how Humanists International is working to promote non-religious rights and defend humanists at risk of persecution around the world.

Bob Churchill is Director of Communications & Campaigns for Humanists International (as the International Humanist and Ethical Union is being called from January 2019). Bob previously worked at Humanists UK (formerly BHA) and volunteered with the Uganda Humanist Association. He studied philosophy at the University of Warwick and Queen’s University, Canada, and has long-standing interests in secularism, Humanism, ethics and philosophy. He has appeared as a spokesperson (e.g. on BBC News, Channel 4 News, Al Jazeera) and as a speaker at Skepticon, Geekfest London, the Institute of Fundraising Technology, Conway Hall Ethical Society, and the European Humanist Youth Days.
