6-week course 2nd November – 7th December
Take part in a six-week project, critically exploring the power of language and the art of persuasive communication. In these Wednesday evening sessions you will be adopting a think-share-explore approach as you discuss your ideas and research findings, and decide on the content, format and design of posters/infographics/texts which will then be displayed in an exhibition at Conway Hall.
Over the six weeks of the project, you will gain confidence and develop the following skills: dealing with a project brief, devising action plans and time management, research skills, collaboration, talking about and developing ideas, giving feedback and support, creating text-based designs, critically engaging with academic discourse, and using rhetoric to get your ideas across.
The project will be facilitated by Adam, who will support with idea development and research (similar to what he does in his role as Academic Support tutor at University of the Arts London), encouraging collaboration and sharing of ideas, and organising an art project (using his experience of working on and running art projects, and assisting in organising/setting up events and exhibitions).
Details of the structure and content for the sessions will be discussed and agreed on in the first meeting.
All workshops will run from 6.30 – 8.30pm and will take place in Conway Hall’s atmospheric library.
Adam Ramejkis works as an Academic Support Tutor and as an Associate Lecturer in Creative Thinking and Communication at University of the Arts London, where he supports students with their understanding of academic communication and trains staff in effective communication and cultural awareness. He advocates a think-share-explore approach to collaboration, as this enables us to reflect on and develop our own, and each other’s, thinking.
Please contact Adam directly if you have any questions about this project:
Cost: £75 (£60 concessions)
