Small Publishers Fair is an annual celebration of books by contemporary artists, poets, writers and book designers.
The 2018 Small Publishers Fair will take place from 11am to 7pm on Friday 09 and Saturday 10 November.
Meet, talk with and buy books from publishers, writers and artists in the iconic setting of Conway Hall. This long-running fair is a great coming together of a thriving community. Two thirds of the publishers come from across the UK or from other countries including Italy, Sweden and Mexico.
There’ll be over 65 tables of original books, editions, zines, poetry pamphlets, postcards and more – many of them usually only available online. Longstanding and iconic presses sit alongside new and emerging ones. There are prices to suit all pockets, and you can’t put a price on the connections you’ll make and conversations you’ll have.
There’s also a special exhibition: ‘Laurie Clark – books and printed matter’. Clark is a leading player in small publishing, co-founder and organiser of Moschatel Press, illustrator of some 180 of the presses publications, and collaborator with many other artists and publishers including, for many years, Ian Hamilton Finlay and his Wild Hawthorn Press.
There are readings, talks and book launches each day and the fair, exhibition and events are free.
