 The Writing Space

Writing the stories of what happens When women gather…

Creative writing workshop with Judi Sissons.

This experiential workshop will focus on practical and enjoyable writing activities designed to facilitate creative flow and encourage participants to access imagination and emotions in a safe, non-judgemental setting. We will use creative and expressive exercises to write from memory, imagination and in response to the images and themes in Grace’s exhibition. We will explore stories of Work, Ritual, Family, Friendship, Performance and Activism.

We will approach the writing in a spirit of adventure, within a friendly, supportive group. Suitable for all levels including beginners.

Judi Sissons is a writer and coach with a broad experience of leading writing groups in higher education, schools, business and the community. Her play The Mad Women of England explored women’s mental health and featured in the States of Mind festival at the Soho Theatre. Her poems and stories have been shortlisted in competitions. Judi has an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing, a Certificate in Arts Therapies and runs The Writing Space. She is currently writing the libretto for The Magic Lantern, a children’s opera, with Opera Schmopera for The Royal Opera House Youth Opera Chorus.

We are committed to promoting inclusive practice at Conway Hall. Due to the constraints of our building, the Library is not currently accessible to wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, we are happy to discuss with you how we can make the contents and materials accessible to you. We carefully monitor which events are held in the Library, and will use your comments to enable us to develop ways to ensure that everyone should be able to attend events in the future.
