In the UK having white skin means something. In this workshop we’ll explore different issues related to race and whiteness through discussion and exercises. We take the approach that white people, no matter how well intentioned or anti-racist, sometimes lack awareness of their whiteness. It doesn’t mean white people are “bad”, but it does mean that they have an opportunity that is denied to non-whites. We explore what this means, where accountability lies for this and how it impacts others.
Mark Hamlin and Hannah Lewis from Navigate will be running the workshop. Navigate is a team of experienced facilitators and trainers that facilitate meetings, run workshops and mediate conflicts for groups and organisations working for social and environmental justice across the UK.
Hannah Lewis has been a facilitator for over a decade, initially through being involved with environmental activism. She is currently studying for a Diploma in Process-work, which is a group facilitation and psychotherapy training.BOOK NOW
