Courses offered within the Learning Programme of Conway Hall.

March 2018
Conway Collective: Performance Prompts

A series of drop-in workshops led by Sean Bruno and Luke Dixon, exploring ways of creation for writers, actors, directors, live artists, dancers, choreographers, photographers, singers and anyone with an unrealised creative urge. Each week a different exercise will help the creative juices flow.

April 2018
Sylvia Pankhurst - No Gods No Masters course at Conway Hall, London

David Rosenberg, author of Rebel Footprints, takes a look at some remarkable people and movements who spoke up and campaigned for progressive ideas and social change in London from the 1790s-1940s. You’ll hear their stories, explore how they popularised their ideas, visit sites of protest and consider their lasting achievements.

This workshop, facilitated by Grace Gelder, is an immersive experience and throughout the day participants will listen to stories, dress up, have fun and create images – alone and with others.

May 2018

This short course explores women’s contribution to Humanist Photography – a mid-century style of documentary photography concerned with everyday life and people. Through discussion, presentations, and practical tasks, discover some of the female photographers who were a key part of this movement.

June 2018

Through an interactive classroom session followed by a guided walk, David Rosenberg explores the complex and conflicted history of women’s battle for equality and political rights, how it was connected to the wider struggle to advance democracy, the birth of feminism, and women’s fights for equality and dignity in the workplace
