Music

Conway Hall has a long history of hosting music at the venue. The main hall was purpose built to home the People’s Concerts, which are now the Sunday Concerts – the longest running chamber music series in Europe.

In the 1950s, jazz, skiffle and rhythm & blues reigned the hall, with the sounds of Lonnie Donegan, Muddy Waters, John White, Ottilie Patterson, Pete Seeger, Otis Spann, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Humphrey Lyttleton and his band.

In closer times the hall has been host to Crass, The Cure, James Blake and La Roux, plus many experimental and innovative music festivals and events held here.
