Long before she won immortal fame as Sybil in Fawlty Towers, Prunella Scales had built a formidable television career, beginning with Pride and Prejudice. She attempted to forge a film career at the same time, but most of her best-known work has been for television, and specifically in comedy.
Heralded by The Times as “just the sort of champion the newest of new music needs”, while being praised as “impeccable in his pianism and unfailing in his idiomatic grasp” by Gramophone, Takenouchi’s curiosity and a natural penchant for integrity makes his playing and vast repertoire unique amongst his generation of pianists.
Timothy West was most recently seen in The Donmar Warehouse production, The Vote, alongside Judi Dench, Mark Gatiss and Catherine Tate. He also played Stan Carter, head of the Carter family, in Eastenders on BBC1, and appeared with his wife, Prunella Scales, in Spun Gold’s documentary series, Great Canal Journeys on More 4.
