Talks & Debates
Conway Hall has a long tradition of hosting radical and interesting speakers on social, political and cultural topics. Historically, these have been held in our central London venue but, as times have changed, we are currently hosting our talks online.
About our different programming strands:
Thinking on Sunday was launched as a new series of events with different themes to our traditional Sunday Lectures. These interesting and stimulating sessions have a talk or presentation followed by Q&A, debate and discussion. The speakers are experts in their field, and/or have a passion for subject. Especially popular with our Ethical Society members, Thinking on Sunday is open to the public and promises to motivate and nourish the mind!
Ethical Matters focuses on Conway Hall’s core aim of being Where Ethics Matter and has covered such topics as Fake News, Climate Change, Class Divides, Domestic Violence and Big Data. Speakers are leading voices on these subjects and also answer questions at the end of their talk, for those curious to learn more.
We also co-host talks with Reweirding on wider subjects outside of Conway Hall’s usual remit, including urban exploration and feminism in video games, as well as examinations of the weird, wonderful and unexplained with the London Fortean Society.
Some of our Talks & Debates can be seen on our YouTube channel.
