Alzheimer’s Research – the Latest
8th January 2017 · 11:00am - 1:00pm
In person | Virtual event
Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease ‘breakthroughs’ appear in the newspapers every week, but in reality there hasn’t been a new drug for any form of dementia in almost 15 years. Clare will talk about some of the latest developments taking place in dementia research and highlight the leading work taking place here in the UK.
Clare Walton has a PhD in Neuroscience from Rockefeller University in New York City, where she studied how stem cells could be used to repair damage to the brain. She is now Research Communications Manager for the Alzheimer’s Society, where she helps communicate about new advances in dementia research, as well as research funded through voluntary donations to the charity.
Doors 10.30. Entry £3, £2 concs./free to Conway Hall Ethical Society members.
Tea, coffee & biscuits will be available.
