In person | Virtual event
To complement the meeting of the Communist Party of Britain Marxist-Leninist taking place in Conway Hall’s Main Hall this evening, musicologist Roderick Swanston will give a talk illuminated by musical examples on this fascinating topic.
Communism has been one of the most pervasive and powerful political and social theories in the last 200 years. It is no surprise that it has affected and influenced composers, but its effect has been different in different places. The talk will explore some of them and examine the musical results.
Tickets: £5.
This talk will be held in the Brockway Room.
Doors open at 6.00pm. A cash bar will be available after this event.
