Pan Africanism in Practice – Strategy Session
11th August 2016 · 6:30pm - 9:30pm
In person | Virtual event
The inaugural debate on Pan-Africanism demonstrated that sentiment of frustration and dissolution still abound. The turnout dispelled the myth that Africans cannot unite where struggle and injustice remain. It proved true when Robbie Shilliam eloquently stated in his address “we are more empirically Pan-African now than in the 40’s & 50’s”. Pan Africanism is not just a transcendental ideal, or a mute verb to denote cultural nationalism (Kehinde Andrews 2016). Pan Africanism is the bridge to political, social and economic liberty we intend to cross, however long it takes.
Building on the dialogue and the inspirational oratory of our panel and attendees, those who participated are cordially invited to a planning and strategy session with the Centre of Pan African Thought. The session will seek to expand on key points of the debate and formulate a structured action plan for sustainable change. It is your chance to meet, sit, and input into the future and purpose of the organisation.
