Pre-concert Talk | Breaking New Ground: Beethoven’s Violin Sonatas
19th January 2020 · 5:30pm - 6:30pm
In person | Virtual event
British composer, journalist, and lecturer Robert Hugill returns to Conway Hall to give a free pre-concert talk about the evening’s programme.
Breaking new ground: Beethoven’s violin sonatas developed from his early works, firmly based on 18th century models to something more developed, representing a real break with the past and culminating in the Kreutzer sonata, the largest and most demanding.
This free event will be followed by the evening’s main Sunday Concert, featuring Maria Canyigueral and Lana Trotovsek performing three Beethoven sonatas for violin and piano.
