 September Songs: Celebrating Eliza Flower

Join Electric Voice Theatre and music historian Oskar Jensen in Conway Hall’s historic Library, as we celebrate the launch of their new website dedicated to Eliza Flower.

This entertaining, informal event features a fascinating talk and open discussion exploring the research into Conway Hall’s most important radical feminist composer. The talk will be accompanied by unique preformances of Eliza’s beautiful vocal music, and the premiere of a brand new work by Frances M Lynch inspired by Eliza’s music. There will be an exhibition from the Flower archive to browse and a viewing of the stunning oil painting commissioned for the project from the talented emerging artist, Elspeth Manders.

Bring your phone for an interactive insight into the resources available on the website including recordings, videos, articles, blogs, Flower history, composer profiles, interviews, reviews and information on the various strands of the projects. Or download the free modern versions of the original scores with flexible arrangements, to try out Eliza’s music for yourself!

Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink.
