Simon Callaghan and Friends: Sunday Concerts Fundraising Night
2nd June 2019 · 6:30pm - 8:30pm
In person | Virtual event
As part of the Spring season of Conway Hall Sunday Concerts, which trace their history back to 1887, Sunday 2nd June sees Director of Music Simon Callaghan takes to the stage with leading fellow musicians, in a colourful programme to close our Spring 2019 season. We begin in the crisp, bright world of Mozart before going through the dramatic virtuosity of Mendelssohn, and conclude with Brahm’s strongly Hungarian-influenced masterpiece.
These concerts are presented by Conway Hall Ethical Society, an independent charity, with a low admission price and an ethos of “affordable classical music for all”. Funds raised will support the continuation of the concert series, providing a platform for established chamber groups as well as giving a springboard to the next generation of young artists to make their mark on the classical music stage. The charity receives no government funding for its educational work and the 150 events a year that it puts on, including Sunday Concerts, learning courses, art exhibitions, poetry and literature events, and collaborations with like-minded organisations.
