Artist Anna Berry conceived of this piece around the time of the general election. Anna was struck by how alienated people feel from the political process and politics in general.
“It’s as if they feel that it makes no difference who is in power – the decisions made on high have no relevance to them. I wanted to bridge that gap between what happens in our political system, and what happens in our daily lives. I wanted to make that relationship very concrete”.
In this piece, Anna has constructed three wreaths from party political electioneering material, dedicated in memorial to those who have died because of the bedroom tax, or having their benefits revoked. The names and circumstances are listed on the wreaths.
