The Story 2017
17th February 2017 · 10:00am - 4:00pm
In person | Virtual event
Last year was yet another day full of brilliant and inspiring speakers, including Musa Okongwa, Spike Trotman, Hannah Nicklin, Thomson & Craighead, James Ball, BORN N BREAD, Daniel Meadows and Helen Zaltzman. This year we’re getting an even more eclectic, diverse and inspiring list of speakers together, so get your tickets now!
As always, The Story is an independent event – we don’t take any payment ourselves for running it, so we put the income from ticket sales into paying our speakers properly, covering all their costs, and making sure they have everything they need to give a fantastic talk on the day.
Other than speaker and event costs, every year we make a donation from ticket sales to the brilliant work of Ministry of Stories. This time we’re making an extra £5 donation, as there are now three MoS centres in London, Rotherham and soon in Brighton. So we’ll guarantee that £15 from each ticket – £6,000 in all – will go to support the work of these great organisations.
We’ve done this without increasing the ticket price at all – we’re taking the hit ourselves. In fact, not only have we not increased ticket prices for the third year in a row, we’ve actually increased the numbers of discounted early bird tickets so more people who are students/freelancers can afford to come.
The Story 2016 will again be a celebration of everything that is wonderful, inspiring and awesome about stories, in whatever medium possible. We’ll have stories that are written, spoken, played, described, enacted, whispered, projected, orchestrated, performed, printed – whatever form stories come in, we hope to have them here.
